SEMINAR ON INDUSTRIAL AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NAVARRA

On 12 April, Dr Miguel Veiga, Engineer and Technical Director at AB ASESORES, and Mr Juan Sanchez, Engineer and Pamplona Office Manager at AB ASESORES, gave a Conference for students studying the Design Degree at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra.

This Design Degree has 240 ECTS divided over 4 academic courses with 60 ECTS each. This means that after the third year, students will specialise in Product Design, Fashion or Services.

AB ASESORES gave students information on:

1. Basic aspects of Industrial and Intellectual Property: patents, trademarks, industrial designs, community designs / models (scope, objects, differences, etc.).
2. How a Designer can protect their work.
3. Design and its protection in Spain and abroad.
4. IP rights that correspond to a Designer.

In addition, this information was given with a practical perspective, based on the experience of the AB ASESORES professionals in their day-to-day contact with companies and Designers, so that students were able to have an overview of the future application of their knowledge and skills, as well as the legal aspects, of their professional activity.
